Cheesecake Time!

MMmmmmm... time to eat some cheesecake! I think I will have the caramel chocolate one!

Wackoness on the bus

I was on the bus today... arrrggghh...on my way to school. I had just packed up my books because my stop was coming up. This big white guy walked past me to the doors.. he looked like that wrestler guy..Brock Lesner.. anywho I noticed him and this other guy exchange a few words but didn't think anything of it and I wasn't really paying attention. I just assumed they knew each other.. UNTIL their convo got a little louder.. and I heard one of them say "so you're not gonna apologize?!" and then the other guy stood up. Then these dumbasses decided to start shoving each other..throwing punches, kicking..which escalated into a full-fledged brawl ON THE BUS!! Like get a life.. everyone was begging them to stop. They didn't even care who was in the way...this poor gurl was just happened to be sitting in the wrong place at the wrong time.. and they were practically on her. It was soooo pathetic... and even worse, they didn't even apologize to her. The whole brawl was over the STUPIDEST thing ever.. accidentally stepping on the other guys shoe. Some people just have too much pride, they can't even apologize. THANK GOD my stop was next.

Next bus:
Oh the wackoness continued. This.. how do i put it w/o being rude.. slightly oversized man got on the bus and he sat down next to an Oriental woman. Like 20 seconds later, I see her turn to him and say that there just isn't enough room for the both of them to sit there. There's a polite way and a rude way of saying such a thing. She obviously took the rude route. Even after he got up, probably all humiliated because she was quite loud and it was a small bus, she proceeded to keep talking and making comments... she went on about how she was getting squished and so on... until finally a woman told her to stop being so ignorant. In my opinion, she wasn't being ignorant, just plain RUDE. So then they exchanged a few words.. but the last thing the Oriental woman said to the gurl really shocked me.. she said, "You think ur better than me because I'm Oriental!" Way to NOT be ignorant eh? Once u bring race into it... its just gone too far, besides the argument wasn't even about race.

One crazy commute.

BTW, in case you were wondering.. both incidents on Mississauga Transit... so leave Brampton outta this!! :P

Me tired

Great weekend... lots of laughs, lots of fun, lots of food... little sleep... and NO school work done!

It was FBI's sister's Mehndi on Saturday... it was so much fun... my voice is still recovering from all the yelling and singing! Man... i need some halls or something. Naila looked gorgeous!!!...as always :) And man, that family is too cute... all the sisters and female cousins were in lehengas... with totally color coordinated chooriyan, shoes... you name it. Aneesa (Sahar's sis)was the cutest thing ever... but i think the party ran way past her bedtime... she was in and out of wakefulness after 9:00. She looked kinda sad/tired so i called her over.. but she didn't come.. and then I was sad... got punked by a 6 yr old. But then we made up and took a photo together :) THe Mehndi ended late... all i hafta say is that punjabi's know how to partay. It's true. (8)#1 Punjabi(8).. WHATEWWER!

Even after we (Roohi, Naila, Madihah & I) left the mehndi... we had some adventures on the road... the bottom line: we got Roohi home in time so she didn't get beat (LOL) AND Madihah is one crazayyyy driver... for some reason she doesn't like looking at the road.

HIGHLIGHTS: -the dances
-popping all gazillion balloons
-my Mom 'taqallufing' when Sahar came 2 take her dinner plate (priceless)
-the ride home
-remembering that I forgot to bring my house keys at 1:30 in the morn

Sisterly Love

I finally did a nice sisterly thing for my older bro today. I bought him a hot dog from the infamous Hotdog Vendor Guy @ UTM (whose name is Abdul by the way) :) Not only did i do that, but I waited outside (in the freezing cold) for 20 minutes for him, holding the hot dog the whole time!! I think I got frostbite... I didn't wanna stand inside and look weird.. just holding the hotdog and not eating it... and trust me, it smelled sooo delicious and relishy.. Mmmmmmm...

Then on the way home, we dropped by this Indian restaurant to pick up some samosas... and there was this Indian clothing boutique next door, so I decided to take a look just in case they had something nice.. AND I found the most awesome suit!! Then I tried sucking up to the Owner guy... I even called him Uncleji and asked him if he remembered me... because I have bought a few outfits from there in the summer.. and he did remember me! He's such a nice old man... maybe I'll remind him of his granddaughter or something and then maybe he'll give me a good price... because I am no good at bargaining. I get soo embarassed when my Mom or Aunts bargain ... because come on, there's a limit to being unreasonable... but sometimes the owners do try to rip you off...

Like once in Pakistan, I really wanted this black suit with white stitching (it was soooo pretty!) but my Mom and my Aunt both didn't think the suit was worth the price & the quality wasn't that good... but this was like the only suit that I had liked in the whole bazaar and so I was pretty adamant about it.. so then they started bargaining... which resulted in them walking away bc the guy wasn't lowering the price. So then... man I dunno what came over me and I started crying. I have never in my life cried for a suit or clothes... it was a pretty sad moment in my life I must admit...or maybe it was just being in Pakistan. So then they all caved in and bought it for me. I was soo happy! I wore the suit like twice, and then I got it washed in India and the suit got ruined..the black bled onto the white thread! I was so devastated (once again yeah I know it's only clothes).. I think I yelled at the Boowa lady for ruining my suit

Moral of the Story: Don't let the Boowa (maid) wash ur clothes!!
Real Moral of the Story: Momma knows best 99.9% of the time

Man I have too much time on my hands sometimes... my latest can't-miss show is .. don't laugh... and yeah its even more superficial than Bachelorette... America's Next Top Model with Tyra. I dunno man, i just happen to be home when these whack shows are on ... and then I just happen to watch them and I make everyone around me shut up. The girls aren't really all that... but there's this one cute, funky chick.. Naima.. I hope she wins!

Speakin of supamodels... (lol..j/k) I'm thinkin of changin my hair.. what should I do? Thinkin of doing it right before Naila's wedding next week. Maybe a fringe... layers... I dunno...

Saturday was fun!! A good break from all the studying and working that has been goin on as of late. We went down to Hamilton, to visit some really old family friends. Had sooo much fun. We made fun of my brother... and made him turn 'ahmer' by asking him all about Sahar.. oooohhh...it was funny.. because it's really hard to get to him. We even had a dholki.. the first dholki yet! And i learned how to play the dholak... but then i ended up messing up the tune and messed everyone else up on their tunes too. Ooops! But I heard the most awesome dholki song ever.. its from the paki drama Mehndi.. it's called Mehndi (Gori karathe singhaar)..

My cute li'l Zainab and Me .. having coffee.. okay fine it's just hot chocolate. Posted by Hello

And another hectic week comes to an end! Man, I take it back, the last minute is the worst time... everything goes wrong, you end up worrying all day long.. you go crazy, like I have been this week.

You see, for my Cognitive Psych class we had to complete 15 online labs by March 11. And I thought it'd be a piece of cake... turns out I need a NEW lab manual with a new pin# to access the online labs (I realized this on Tuesday afternoon) and the bookstore only sold the textbook and the manual as a package. Aint no way I was paying $120 for a pin number... so i left it. Yesterday I went back to the bookstore in panic mode.. and the last package (textbook/manual) was gone! And the chick was like the earliest she could get me a manual was 2 weeks... so anyways, I was finally bright enough to email the TA and ask her what to do.

Her way still cost me some money... she told me how i could buy the manual online and get the pin number. So I was at UTM Library when i figured it all out.. and i didnt wanna pull out my VISA (didn't want ppl thinkin I was hittin Ebay or shoppin..) so then i thought I would jus do it at home. So when I got home (in panic mode again) I ordered it, but i ended up ordering 2 stupid manuals.. and i didnt even notice until the order had gone thru. It cost me $50 for a flippin 10 digit pin code... but I finished the all of the labs. A meltdown averted.

One disturbing Week...

This week has just been crazy... and not good crazy.

I am still really distraught over the incident where that a man threw his own daughter over the overpass onto Hwy 401... I can't believe people can bring themselves to do such horrible things and to their own children. I wouldn't be able to sleep for the rest of my life if I had witnessed such a thing. I really really hope inshAllah that the little girl, Inara makes it through and is able to get past this traumatic experience. My prayers are with her.

Schupid Mississauga Library!!!

Man... who knew a library could be sooo confusing!?! I dropped by the Mississauga Library today to pick up some books for my bro.. and I kept going to the wrong floor!! So now I am questioning my intelligence... okay so if the main floor your on is the 3rd floor and you wanted to go to the 4th floor.. you would go down right? So instead of takin the elevator.. i took the stairs and i ended up on the Children's books floor.. so then i went back up. Then I went to the floor above the main ... and it still wasn't the right floor.. man I was tired mess by the time I made it to the 4th floor. Even on the way down.. I couldn't find the main floor..and this time I used the elevator!! Struggles day ... I tell ya.

I wanna MARCH BREAK tooo! Remember that one year when we got a 2 week March Break... that was the best March Break ever! Man.. my bachpan ("childhood" -for you coconuts ;) )is slipping away...
