Mann.. wish i coulda stayed for dessert... cheesecake central! (Yeah Sahar.. we brought the most awesomest cheesecake.... chocolate cheesecake... and u missed it... sooooo sad!)

Our team sucked at Taboo... sorry man... I couldn't figure out how to express St. Bernard... I said Beethoven.. but nooobody (ie ROOHI) could figure it out... and I dunno what it is but i always end up with the wackest words... it's a conspiracy!

'Bachelor(ette)' vs. Arranged Marriage

I can't believe I never thought of this before... Monday day (I think..) I was watching Bachelorette Jen and I came to the conclusion: that woman is such a walking contradiction. I don't really watch these reality shows... and I think this was the 2nd episode of Jen's show that i had seen. The first one being the first episode of the season.. where they show all the guys and the only reason I watched that one was to see if any bechaara brown guys made it to the first round.. but I don't think any did... racism in America I tell ya... but atleast it saved them the humiliation of getting kicked out in the first round anyways.

So yeah... back to Jen aka the Bachelorette... she is pretty tho... but anyways...she goes on and on about how she wants a good guy, someone she can communicate with openly, how it isn't "all about looks" with her, how she is sick of guys that just mess around... how she is looking for a Husband!! 3 guys left... one is a successful, good looking guy who is a bit insecure.. and she says that he isn't a good communicator. The second, is a teacher guy, really sweet, they have great chemistry.. she says he is an amazing communicator; he tells her he can see her as his wife. The third guy: pure eye candy, has money... she wonders about his motives... whether he just wants to win or really wants to be with her. So anyways... she totally blew me away ... she gave the 1st guy a rose... which was alright.. but then she gave the 3rd guy the last rose!! I couldn't believe it... she wasn't even sure if that guy wanted to be with her at all, alone the rest of her life... and still she chose him over the sweet guy... to come and meet her family. She totally went against everything that she was wanting in a guy (or so she claimed to want). Which led me to think... are girls just like that? They want what they can't have.. or don't want what they can have?

Anyways... back to how Bachelor(ette) is like an Arranged Marriage:

1) Both concepts -- have a pool of people chosen by the show's producers or Parents to choose from [however, guys in AM somehow seem to have a better looking pool to choose from.. mama's boys!!!]

2) Both -- allow you to get to know one another... and make cuts .... ouch

3) You gotta take home the special someone or special 2 people [as in Bachelor(ette)] home to meet your family at some point ( in arranged.. it's at the beginning... beginning, end... same thing)

4) Family has an impact on the person's final decision (family's opinion weighs a bit more heavily in desi culture...just a tad..)

5) If you do end up getting married to that person... you get a huge wedding (maybe even televised..)

And those are my 2 cents....

Only in Canada...

would the NHL lockout and the cancellation of the season make FRONT PAGE NEWS!! Like come on now, we all knew it was coming... it was just a matter of time... and by now most of the hockey fans are into watching the Raps lose...

Interesting...

Lately, I've been getting alot of people asking me my background, nationality... but come on now... I look completely South Asian!! Don't I???

Like at work... last week a Phillipino guy asked me if I was Phillipino... today the Pharmacist, Mina couldn't figure out what I was all day... until she went and looked up my last name.. and she heard some urdu tidbits from me while I was talkin to Shaz..all your fault.. and she was saying that she couldn't narrow down the possibilities.. but she was convinced I was mixed... and I am... Indo-Pak baby! She thought I was half South Asian and Portuguese (how?!) ... I can see how ppl would think I'm Malaysian or something.. the chinky eyes...

And... I jus saw an awesome show.. haven't been watchin TV for ages.. school's been keepin me tres busy... so yeah.. I saw this show called.. don't laugh it sounds like a cheesy show from the title... but I though it was awesome.. Johnny Zero! I'm still trying to figure out why they call him that but... yeah.. he's pretty hot... I think he's half Latin, half Black. Anywhoo.. it was like watching a movie... kinda reminded me of Fast and Furious 2

Sarah, Tazeen, Maheen, Shaggu, Shiney, me and Nazia (we took a break from our continental breakfast buffet to pose with the star of the party).. man I look like such a boy.. thank goodness for the long hair...but in my defence I had a midterm that day, okay!! Posted by Hello

Parents are back....

And... we were late to pick them up... for once in the history of the world... a flight was early... not even just on time but 40 minutes early!! So we got there like 5 minutes late... i was so sad.. esp since we had all these plans of videotapin their entrance... and stuff... and then we couldn't :( And why were late... my bro is schupid... he wanted to get the car washed... but he waits for the last second... like literally the last second... and he's looking for a particular car wash... and ofcourse at the last second.. you're NOT gonna find it.. so we wasted like 15 minutes lookin for the car wash place... and then the 410 was crazy! But we made it....

Atleast they are back.. never thought I would miss them sooo much... my Mom got a tan... it looks cool.. we look like Mother-Daughter now... hehe. My Dad got his head shaved... he looks sooo different..he can't wait for it to grow back... I think it makes the cold weather EVEN more apparent.. bc he wears hats in the house now... The house looked awesome.. and sure enough my mom didn't notice the place till like an hour later... then we had some ppl over... cut the cake... then they crashed. They brought back a lot of Khajoors... Mmmmmmm...
